“Originally from Britain, but now living in Utrecht, Rachel Morton-Young has been a regular on the English-speaking stand-up comedy scene in the Netherlands for the last couple of years, leaving a path of mirth in her wake. As a self-confessed clumsy and chaotic chatterbox, her life is a constant source of inspiration for the comedy she writes and performs.”
Notts Comedy Review (November 2021)
Rachel Morton-Young has been living in Holland for twenty years and demonstrating that Dutch isn’t a sexy language provided her opening material. This was all very easy to get behind and by the time she was acting out getting a fitting the whole audience was with her. She struck a rich cord when speaking about her children, and for me, these were the best jokes in what was a good set. RMY was full of beans and her energy seemed to fill the entire room. This was a set that seemed to pass too quickly and I think the room would have liked more.
Review of Absolutely Themeless (August 2021)
Morton-Young is the most polished of the three, marrying a selection of gags (ranging from lockdown drinking to Anglo-Dutch cultural and linguistic differences) with a warm and energetic screen presence. She establishes the firmest rapport with the audience, something more difficult than usual considering the blank zoom profiles in the place of a more welcoming in-person audience.
Rachel is available for hire as a public speaker / Master of Ceremonies to moderate events, introduce guest speakers and host panel discussions etc.
Event Moderator (2020):
Rachel is a warm, energetic, and entertaining speaker with a great sense of humour who did a nice job as a host at the International Welcome Centre’s online Living & Lifestyle Event in 2020. Her interview with our ambassadors was engaging, her sketch was uplifting, and her energizer amusing. She did great.
